With that in mind, we’re excited to announce that we’ve added some powerful new features that will help our users work together and edit video even more effectively. 

Allow Anyone To Upload Media to iconik with Upload Requests

Iconik collections are a great way to gather and organize media for projects. Now, in this latest update, you can invite anyone, even those without an iconik account, to upload media into a shared collection. This makes it easy for people to collaboratively add content, or simply deliver and share files.

To allow uploads to a given collection:

1. Right-click on a collection
2. Select "share"
3. Add email addresses to share with
4. Then choose "Allow Uploads"

Now your invitees can start uploading files with everything neatly organized in collections.

Custom Ordered Collections

Another collection feature we’ve added recently is the ability to customize the order of your iconik collections. It’s a great way to present your assets in the order you want them to be presented. You could use ordered collections to establish a hierarchy within assets or prepare media for a client presentation. 

To reorder a collection, it's really simple, just click the edit icon in the collection, choose “Reorder collection”, drag the assets to wherever you want them to be, then save your custom order.

Greater Edit Proxy Support with Audio Mapping

Proxy video editing with iconik is more efficient because it allows users to work more quickly with low-resolution copies of their videos, which are then replaced with the high-resolution versions when the editing is complete.

Now iconik supports higher quality proxies. This is possible with the new Edit Proxy transcoder that’s available now in the iconik cloud and will be available soon for the iconik Storage Gateway (ISG). You can customize this transcoder with resolutions from 480p all the way to full resolution and bitrates from 5Mbps to 30Mbps. 

Iconik also now supports audio mapping for multiple audio tracks when using the iconik panel for Adobe Premiere Pro. This is really important because, without audio mapping, the audio on the edit proxy would not match the source media—like a poorly dubbed kung-fu film.

Any given project can also include tracks for narration, music, sound effects, or multiple versions of the same audio track in different languages, with audio effects, or with censoring of explicit content. For these reasons, support for multiple audio tracks is an absolute necessity for proxy editing.
